Could Laser Cleaning become a vital part of our own Defence Force here in NZ?

We are always keeping up with the latest on Laser cleaning overseas and its developments here at Merry Metal Works. One of the most recent was a successful trial of Laser cleaning being used by the Australian Defence force to strip paint and rust from heritage & restoration aircraft back in May 2025. Not only did it reduce labour by months and completely reduce hazards to the personnel- it peeled away all the rust, grime & corrosion back to bare metal without damaging any of the surface and actually revealed old serial and part numbers. The trial was so successful and the application of laser technology so wide - that the Australian Defence Force will be using Laser cleaning methods for projects across 7 more bases Australia wide in 2025.
